Nice of you to drop by. I would like to share with you some old family stories and of course my Momma's pictures. Momma kept them in an old yellow and white tin bread box. How I love those old pictures. As I sit and look at them I can hear my momma telling us who is who and a bit about each of them. But first , let me tell you a little about me and my brother Mike. Like many families, both our parents were married before they married each other. Momma was married to Lawrence Winfred Beasley Jr., my father. Momma had me and my sister Effie then divorced him. Later she married Ewing (Pat) Groves, my brother Mikes father. They had 3 kids, my brother's Butch, Mike and my baby sister Dedie.I called Pat Groves Daddy. His first marriage was to Verda Mae Murphy and they had 3 sons Archie, Knute and Hank. Mike is my baby brother and he has always been there for me. No matter what. On Oct.24,1998 I had a heart attack. After that Mike brought me over this computer. At that time I didn't even know how to turn one on. I started learning it. I'd break it and Mike would fix it. What a great brother I have. So because he thought I could learn it , I have. Sort of. I believe that things happpen for a reason. I believe that I was chosen to be the one in my family to tell the family story, to keep it alive. Thank God for computers and the Internet. I know that the younger members of my family don't have much interest in the genealogy or the old pictures. I hope as they grow older they will develop and understanding and a deep respect for our ancestors. I am honored to have been the one chosen to do this work. I would like to thank each and every one of my ancestors for loving me before I was born. They are the people that fought and died for this country so that we could have a better life. They deserve our love and respect and above all they deserve to be remembered. By God they earned it. |
